The Tsunagu Lantern: Traditional Lantern meets modern!

Taking traditional handicrafts and looking to modernise them, these beautifully handcrafted lanterns are quintessentially Japanese! With this project, through a collaboration of the traditions that have been passed down by previous generations, and the new handcrafts that the creators propose, they hope that people worldwide will see and feel the traditional Japanese handicraft that are these lanterns, and with that be able to spend a warm and gently illuminating time thanks to them.

Unique Folding Wood Design

tatamu_01.jpg

One characteristic of this lantern is that even though it is wood, it still folds. By adding wood origami paper to Japanese washi paper, you can compactly fold the lantern just like other lanterns. As well as this, the wooden origami paper is made using a specialised technique which means that even when the paper is folded close together, it won’t break

Easy To Carry & Store

Magnet.jpg

A good characteristic of Japanese lanterns is that when you use them, they can be made big, and then when you want to store them, they compactly fold up. In the rings of the lantern and the handle, magnets are used, which makes for easy removal and attachment. As well as this, it is easy to carry around thanks to the handles, and as it is lightweight, you can take it to various places in your house or garden or even your car and enjoy the soft light of the lantern whenever you want!
