The handles are finished with a traditional Japanese crafting technique called urushi lacquering. What makes urushi lacquer special is its unique lustre, brilliant durability, as well as sterilising properties.

The sharpness of the blades is on the same level as other high-end kitchen knives by other talented craftsmen, and in order to make them keep this sharpness for longer, the forging process has been worked on in comparison to other black hammered knives, which has improved the sharpness and quality of the knives.
