Miharu Daruma: Paper Crafted Dolls to Bring You Luck
Traditional daruma are made with blank eyes, filled in by the owner as a wish is made. Miharu Hariko Daruma are different, both eyes are painted on from the start, representing a wish already fulfilled and good fortune already welcomed in.
Made entirely by hand by Shoichi Hashimoto, the only craftsman still making Miharu Hariko from scratch, each daruma is built from washi paper layered over a wooden mold, dried, cut, joined, and hand painted, a craft carried through Fukushima Prefecture for over 300 years.

A Gaze That Meets You From Every Angle
Through a technique called happonirami, the daruma's eyes seem to meet yours from any direction, while a weighted base lets it rock back upright if pushed over, echoing the saying: fall seven times, rise eight.
Two Sizes, Two Occasions
A compact 20cm (7.9") size sits easily on a desk or shelf, while the 30cm (11.8") size carries a stronger presence, well suited to store openings or as a meaningful gift.
