These lovely pins are born from a traditional Japanese handicraft, Owari Butsugu, which is the making of metal fittings for ritual use and festivals! Each pin is created by hand one by one by amazing craftsmen in a 5 steps process! First the metal is heated, and then it is engraved, cut with a jigsaw, filled and colored to give them depth and life!

Coloring Without Paint!
No paint is used in coloring the metal! Rather, the color of the metal is altered by chemical reactions, making the color very long lasting and very hard to wear off! For example, with the red sea bream, a mixture of copper sulphate and copper rust is used to change the color to a redder bronze. Each pin and its specific color has a particular coloring method!
