Nishijin-Ori Cloth Bags & Hanging Scrolls Meet Family Crests
Made using special Nishijin-Ori silk gauze, decorated with the family crests of warlords of Japan, bring a striking piece to your home! These amazing bags and hanging scrolls are made with meticulous detail, and use one of three family crests from the three unifiers of Japan, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu! The bags are reminiscent of bags of old that were carried holding all the samurai needed within, and the hanging scrolls are reminiscent of those battle banners that were carried into war, or hanging scrolls that were a feature in many old homes.

Made Using Nishijin-Ori Fabric

Silk gauze made using Nishijin-ori weaving methods is a truly brilliant piece of fabric, made by delicately and elaborately weaving a small amount of thread for a light and almost transparent piece of fabric. Nishijin-ori fabrics are a fabric that has a proud place in Japan’s traditional handicrafts history with 500 years of history, however, due to the ageing population of craftsmen and a lack of successors to the craft, it is facing a large crisis of being lost to time.
