A complex processing for a beautiful sound
Orin are made from a material called “sahari”, an alloy of copper and tin (bronze). It is difficult to process, but its hardness gives it a dignified and distinctive tone. The metal is then sharpened and polished many times, then hardened and finished to create a beautiful tone and brilliance. Nowadays, it is a traditional technique in Japan, which can only be performed in a limited number of workshops in Kyoto.
