The average thickness of the usual camping iron plate is 6 to 9mm (0.2 to 0.3 in). However, the TETSUJIN No. 1 and 2 are 19mm and 12mm thick respectively, which is quite the difference!

This thickness enables high heat storage and retention, making it possible to cook delicious food, with a crispy outside and a juicy inside you would usually find at a restaurant, but outdoors! In addition, the TETSUJIN plates are sturdy and heavy but extra easy to carry thanks to the included handles, with which you can easily and safely move the iron plates around even when they are hot!
